Adam Cree

Adam Cree was born 1882 in Toft Hill, Co. Durham. He was the son of John Henry and Elizabeth Cree. By 1891 the family had moved to Evenwood. In the 1901 census Adam was working as a coal miner as were his father and brothers.

1908 Adam married Dinah, whohad previously been married to a Cox. They lived at Stones End, Evenwood.

Adam served in WW1 but his service records have not been found.

Norris Cree also served in WW1, service record not found.

Christopher Cree, born 1878, Toft Hill, elder, brother of Adam, served in the 21st Tyneside Scots, Northumberland Fusiliers, Private 21/1568. He died of his wounds February 2, 1916.

Adam and Norris and Christopher Cree are uncles of Thomas Cox of Newton Aycliffe.
