Alexander George Dunn

Alexander was born March 6, 1894 and was baptized April 4, 1894 at Shildon, Co. Durham.

Parents: William Dunn, born 1856 in Richmond, Yorkshire and Ann Oliver, born 1863 in Eldon, Co. Durham.

In the 1891 and 1901 censuses for Middridge, Co. Durham, the family were at Eden Pit, Middridge.

By 1911 the family had moved to Woodham North Farm. Alexander was at Trimdon Grange, age 17, working as a farm servant for John Davison.

Alexander died April 7, 1921 and was buried in St. Andrew's Churchyard, April 11, 1921 age 27. His home is given as North Farm, Woodham. Alexander's brother, Richard P. Dunn, registered his death.

Alexander is commemorated on the War Memorial at St. Andrew's, Aycliffe.

Alexander's younger brother, Oliver Edward Dunn, was killed and his name is on the Arras Memorial at Faubourg, Bay 5.
