Charles Wheadon was born 1882 at Darlington. He was the son of William and Elizabeth Ann Wheadon.

Charles married Mary Teresa Sowerby in 1901 at Darlington. In the 1911 census they are living at 3, Leonard Street, Bank Top, Darlington. They had had 6 children, 2 of whom had died. Mary Teresa died in 1917.

Charlese had joined the Machine Gun Corps December 11, 1915, Private 58573. He lost a leg in the war and was discharged September 10, 1919.

Charles married May Newsome in 1919 at Darlington. They lived at 4, The Orlands, Aycliffe.

Charles died 1963. He is the grandfather of Peter Wheadon of Newton Aycliffe.
