George Alfred Jagger

George Alfred Jagger was born about 1886 in Leeds, Yorkshire. He was the son of Alfred George Dover Jagger and Maria Jane Speight.

In the 1901 census George and his brother William were working on East Thickley Farm, Shildon, as a stockfeeder and carter for Elizabeth Weighill.

In the 1911 census he was living at Heworth Cottage, Heworth House, Aycliffe, with his wife Margaret and daughter Catherine. He was working on the farm. His wife was Margaret Ann White, born Aycliffe, whom he had married in 1909. George had a son, George William, born 1920.

In the Absent Voters' List of October 1918 George's address is North Row, Aycliffe. George was Driver 201291, Royal Field Artillery.
