Henry Scott

Henry Scott was the son of John and Ellen Scott. His parents were from Arkengarthdale in Yorkshire. Henry was born in Shildon about 1884.

In the 1901 census the family were living at Orlands, Aycliffe. John Scott died before the 1911 census. His widow Ellen and son Harry (Henry) are both entered as Coal Dealer, living at Orleans, Aycliffe.

Henry attested 11 December, 1915 at Newcastle upon Tyne. He was 32 years old. He was 5' 5" tall, 140 lbs, had good physical development. He had blue eyes and grey hair. His medical judged him only fit for home service due to sight impediment. He was called to the 2/4th Royal Scots, Pte. 4816/4 R. S. 1 May, 1916and posted 11 May, 1916.

By August 29, 1916 Harry was recommended for discharge as he suffered vertigo from an injury to the head prior to embodiment and this came into effect 6 September, 1916.
