John Brunton |

John Brunton was the son of Matthew William Brunton and Eva Rose of Aycliffe, who had married in 1910. In the 1911 census Matthew and Eva were living with his parents, Edward and Margaret Brunton, in Aycliffe. Edward was a grocer and Matthew a butcher. Matthew had two sons, Alfred E. born 1914, and John, born April 17, 1917. Matthew Brunton died October 24, 1920. Eva married William Walker 1927. John served in WW11 as Aircraftman 2nd Class, 946579, Royal Airforce Volunteer Reserve, 98 Squadron. John died June 17, 1940.
