John Christie was born 1881 in Darlington, one of 8 sons of William and Mary Christie. He married Annie.

He attested 28 November, 1915. He was a motor mechanic and was joining the Mechanical Transport Reserve Depot (Grove Park), Army Service Corps as Private M2/222981. He died age 34 before he was finally approved on the same day as he attested. It is wondered whether he died in an accident at theWoolwich Arsenal.

John is commemorated in All Saints Cemetery, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne.
