Joseph Robinson

Joseph Robinson , Private 203113, Durham Light Infantry, 1/6th. He was killed in action May 30, 1918. Joseph is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, east of Compiègne and on the War Memorial, St. Andrew's Church, Aycliffe.

He is the 4 year old son of Anthony and Sarah Elizabeth Robinson of the High Street, Aycliffe in the 1901 census Joseph was baptized December 5, 1897 in St. Andrew's Church, Aycliffe.

In the Absent Voters' List of October 1918 Joseph's address is given as High Row, Aycliffe and he was in the 5th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry.

Alan Pattison says that his grandfather, James Parker, married Elizabeth Robinson, sister of Joseph, in 1915. James and Elizabeth are both buried at St. Andrew's.
