Robert Barker Crusher is in the 1901 census for Great Aycliffe, age 4. The family were not in the 1891 census for Great Aycliffe. In 1911 the farm is just stated as at Travellers Rest, Aycliffe. Robert is working on the farm for his father. His elder brother Joseph (see his page) was not at home in 1911. Joseph and Thomas Crusher also served. In the Absent Voters' List of October 1918 Robert is listed as Private 163149, 4th Division, Royal Engineers. Robert died 20 May, 1986, age 89 and is buried in St. Andrew's Churchyard, as is his wife Alice, who died 23 April, 1963, age 59.
