Thomas William Hedworth was born November 12, 1895 in Evenwood, Co. Durham.

Parents: Isaac Hedworth, born Tyne Dock, and Elizabeth, born Evenwood.

In the 1911 census the family were living at 37, Ravensworth Terrace, Chopwell, Durham. Thomas had 5 brothers and sisters. Thomas was working as a miner, as was his father and brother Stephen.

Thomas possibly served in the Durham Light Infantry.

Thomas married Kate Coxford and had a daughter, Doreen, born 1919. Thomas died 1986.

Thomas Hedworth is the grandfather of Paul Compton of Newton Aycliffe.
