We are hoping to document the history of Newton Aycliffe. Do you have any old photographs, memorabilia and memories that we could use?

There was a History Season at Newton Aycliffe Library. As part of this, Aycliffe Village Local History Society had a display of photographs, slide shows and other material both about Aycliffe Village, and also about Newton Aycliffe on November 19. One of the slide shows was a set of photographs from the old Tenants Handbooks from 1952 - 1966 with newer photographs taken of the same views in 1999, ready for a Millenium Display in 2000. There was also a list of shops taken from the Tenants' Handbooks - see link below |
